Artisan Doll

Date

2023

This piece represents the cycle of creation within creation itself.
The doll portrays an artisan sculpting another doll, as though she were shaping the continuation of her own knowledge — a gesture that echoes the transmission of craftsmanship across generations. Looking at it, we have the feeling that the art is silently multiplying, as if the clay itself held memory and the desire to be born once again.

The lit kiln at the base of the piece suggests that this moment is not merely symbolic — it is ritual. The clay is still alive, warm, with a soul that continues to pulse.

It is a sculpture that speaks of craft, lineage, womanhood, and time — a kind of time that does not simply pass: it is shaped.
